Shelters need hands — for transport, for fostering, for taking a decent photo of a dog nobody has asked about in eight months. What they almost never need is another small donation: they need somebody on a Saturday.
The account works
You can create it and a shelter can register you as one of their volunteers.
A volunteer panel: not yet
There is no volunteer screen with your shifts or your tasks. We are not going to draw one on this page as if there were.
The volunteer account exists so a shelter can register you and you show up as theirs without being their employee.
Free — and here is exactly what that means
- No fee and nothing to pay, ever.
- No selling your data and no passing it to anyone but the shelter you pick.
- No lock-in. Leave when you like, delete the account when you like.
And why we can say “forever”: because charging you to volunteer would be, literally, charging you to work for free.
What this is not
This is not a job board and it will not find you a position. And if what you want is a panel to sign up for shifts, today we do not have one — tell us through contact and we will know it needs building, which is exactly why we ask.
